The SR Viper Project

We are doing some mods to a 98 Viper GTS, for one of our customers. The customer has asked that we do dyno runs after each engine mod to see the incremental change. While it's a lot more work, we really liked the idea. So we thought we would share the info with you.

The car is in excellent condition with about 25K Miles on it. Mostly  track miles!

The Base car was dyno'ed producing 405 Rear Wheel HP.  (Not bad for a beginning)

Step  1 was a simple Cold Air Box with K&N's. Rear Wheel HP now at 424.  (Yes, we were surprised also. We expected 10-15)

Step 2 was a set of Bobby Archer Headers and exhaust system with Borla's.  466 Rear Wheel HP!  And that was with a closed system.

Step 3  was a set of Bobby Archer higher ratio roller rockers.  470 Plus HP at peak, with a about a 200 RPM stretch of the curve.

Step 4   a set of power pulleys.  An additional 7 HP at peak.

A 2 quart Prelube oi l system (w / electric valve) and , 10lb Fire System, (manual discharge with nozzles in passenger compartment and engine fuel rail.)

Randy's times at the track had been in the 121.1 sec area at Putnam Park. After the above, times fell to 118.5.

Roll Bar, Seats, and 6 Point Harness System were also be added.

2 Qt Accusump and 10lb Fire Bottle installation. original space saver
spare with carpeting is installed over this. Leaving everything invisible
and still having some storage space.

Sparco 2000 Seats, Roll Bar and Safequip 6 point Camlock system.
